A tribute to William Carey and his family

A tribute to William Carey and his family

On Sunday 18th May, William Carey a good friend of Ella and her brother Mason sadly passed away. William was such a happy little man and always had a smile for anyone, Ella and Mason spent a lot of time with him and not once did he raise any questions on why Ella was in a chair or why she couldn't talk, Ella was just Ella and that made their friendship all the more special. William will always have a very special place in our hearts and we will always have are own memories of the time we spent with him, we feel honoured to have known such a special little man, he was a credit to his family and will be very sadly missed.

Victoria and Michael Carey, Williams parents, have kindly asked for any memorial contributions to be donated to Ella's trust. I cannot even put into words what this means to us as a family, this selfless decision could only have been thought of by very special people, they have for a brief moment put aside their grief and thought about other people who they could help, the word thank you just doesn't seem enough. We not only have to thank them for this extremely kind gesture but we also have to thank them for letting us know William, we feel honoured to have met him and his family and they will never be forgotten. With this heart felt gesture Victoria and Michael will be able to see the happiness and positivity William will bring to Ella-Marie and us her family, now and in years to come.

So for now at least we thank you Tors and Mike from the bottom of our hearts for making this truly kind and heart warming decision.

William and Ella-Marie Having Fun
William and Ella-Marie Having Fun

You are so very special in every single way
Your love it shone right through you every single day
With those big blue eyes and your really cheeky smile
And your golden hair which you liked in any style
Your infectious laugh which could light up a day
You could always tell when William had been to stay

You rarely ever faltered and this is actually quite true
And William “guess what” it was an honour to know you
You always had a game to play or a story to unfold
You didn’t always like to take the lead or even be too bold
But listen to me carefully because what I say is true,
William it was an absolute honour to know you

You have and will continue to make an impact everyday
You are a credit to your family whose love for you is unconditional in every single way
You will never be forgotten and this I know is true
As it would be very hard to forget a gorgeous boy like you
Your character, your presence, your little quirky ways
Memories like these are the ones that always stay

So William please don’t forget what I say
“It was an honour to know you every single day”
